Building a future without child marriage together
In many communities in Nepal, child marriage is still a deeply ingrained tradition, despite strict laws stipulating a minimum age of 20. SSDO and the Kanchi Foundation are joining forces to break this cycle in Kapilvastu. Our shared mission focuses on the most powerful tool for change: education.
By bringing the topic to the forefront of discussion in places where it was previously unthinkable, we raise awareness. We engage in dialogue with parents, local leaders, and the young people themselves about the impact of early marriage on children’s health, education, and personal development.
With respect for local culture, but with an unwavering vision of children’s rights, SSDO and the Kanchi Foundation ensure that girls and boys have the opportunity to be children first, to learn, and to grow. Together, we give a voice to tomorrow’s generation and work towards a Nepal where every child has the freedom to choose their own future.
